About Laura…
I hold my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and am working towards my licensure in Clinical Social Work and Addictions Counseling. I have been fortunate to gain experience in the field of social work as well as marketing and project management.
I bring diverse approaches and experiences to this practice which enable me to actively work with those seeking out assistance in their personal lives in discovering, exploring, healing, and growing. I am eager to explore what approaches and experiences work best for you! I enjoy building a unique relationship with people so that I can understand their personal goals and they can truly seek and build upon what they desire.
In practice I like to incorporate strength-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I am CAMS trained to assist in suicidal intervention, as well as a certification in Sand-Play Therapy. Sand-play is a wonderful modality that helps people process and work through current and past experiences which can be a unique way of exploring a person’s individual experiences.
I am also Level One trained in the Gottman Method for Couples which has been researched and proven as an effective approach for couples who want to improve the quality of their relationships.
On a personal note, I enjoy cooking, paddle boarding, and watching movies. I have been with my husband for over 10 years, and we have two beautiful young boys together. What a ride it has been! I have been researching, learning about, and personally experiencing relationships, toddler development, childhood experiences, and behaviors. I am eager to assist people through the wild and exciting journey that is parenting, as well as assisting people in their relationships and personal experiences. I believe wholeheartedly that building a healthy and communicative lifestyle and relationship with others changes everyone for the better. I’m excited to help you explore and go through that journey!
